Community Carrier/Song Leader Workshop with Kva
March 26 & 27, 2026 at Bethel Horizons
Kva is offering a Community Song Leading Workshop woven into a Big Singing Retreat gathering over the weekend of March 26 - 27, 2026. This community singing workshop will give you the basic "how to" of Community Song Leading and is meant to deeply nourish, connect and hold us all in the medicine of song and to encourage the budding spring energy of new growth.
In this workshop you will learn and practice leading easy, call & response songs, and layer songs that create harmony automatically. There is no music to read. You can't do it wrong! We'll learn heart-centered songs, funny songs, grief songs, all songs that create community as we sing together. We will also discuss many aspects of community song leading as well as the details of starting and nurturing your own Community Song Circle in your area.
You will be part of a small group where you will learn basic community song leading skills and have the opportunity to practice leading in our small group as well as leading in the Friday evening song circle presented by the workshop attendees.
The song leader participants come in on Thursday afternoon and the Big Sing participants will be coming in on Saturday after breakfast. We'll all stay until Sunday after lunch.
In addition to the song leader circles with Kva, you will also be part of the Big Spring Singing Retreat, learning not only in our small group but also by observing and participating in circles with ehe amazing song leaders at the Big Sing.
Spring Equinox Big Sing and Water Ceremony
March 28 & 29th, 2026 at Bethel Horizons in Dodgeville,WI
The Big Spring Singing Retreat is currently in planning. It will be held at @ Bethel Horizons Retreat Center in Dodgeville, WI. Bethel Horizons Retreat Center is located on more than 548 beautiful acres bordering Governor Dodge State Park.
As the deep stillness of winter opens to the magic of new possibilities and new growth, we come together to sing and celebrate. You will learn easy, call & response songs, layer songs that create harmony automatically, heart-centered songs, funny songs, grief songs, songs of encouragement and songs for the land.
The intention of this community singing retreat is to immerse, connect and hold every participant in the powerful medicine of song and singing in community. We are preparing for 60ish participants.
